Not every photo session needs to be a whole thing
You know the kind: The outfits, the planning, the “please just smile one more time” energy.
And don’t get me wrong… those sessions matter.
But I kept coming back to this quiet little thought: What if it didn’t have to feel like that every time?
What if it could be easier?

This didn’t start as some big business idea
It started in a season where I needed something simple. We had just moved and everything felt a little up in the air. I didn’t feel like I had the luxury of slowly figuring things out.
I just needed to get back to what I love… and get in front of as many people as possible!
So I asked myself: What’s the easiest way for someone to say yes to stepping in front of my camera?
Not a full session, not a huge commitment. Just something small and approachable.
Something that felt like… why not?!

That’s where these sessions came from
Short, easy, playful.
Five minutes for kids in front of a simple white backdrop.
No pressure, no expectations, no “stand here and do this.”
Here’s the part I didn’t expect
I thought this would be a great way to meet new families!
But then parents would leave saying things like, “That was so much easier than I thought it would be.”
And I get it… because when you’re used to something feeling like work, and then suddenly it doesn’t? That experience sticks with you!!

It was never really about the five minutes
It’s about how it feels inside those five minutes.
When the kids are laughing. When you’re not stressed about everything being perfect. When it just feels… LIGHT.
That’s the part people remember! And that’s the part that matters more than anything else I could plan.

If you’ve ever thought, “I don’t know if my kids would sit still…”
You’re in very good company. 😅 Most families feel that way walking in!
There’s often a little hesitation, a level of uncertainty. And then a few minutes later… something shifts. Not because everything went perfectly, but because it didn’t have to!!!

What happens after is my favorite part
Not in a “next step” kind of way, and not in a pushy, you-should-book-this kind of way. But naturally.
Families stay connected, they see more of my work over time, and they start to recognize what it feels like to be in front of my camera.
And when they’re ready for something more, it’s not a big decision anymore! It’s just the natural next step.
I recently talked more about this on a podcast
If you’re curious how this all came together (and how it’s evolved), I shared more of the behind-the-scenes on a recent episode of This Can’t Be That Hard!
It’s a really honest conversation about how something small can turn into something much bigger than you expected.
If this is intriguing to you
I put together a simple guide that walks through how this kind of session can fit into your business in a way that actually makes sense!!
It’s not complicated, and it’s not overwhelming. It’s just meant to help you see what’s possible!
And if you want support beyond that
Sometimes you don’t need more ideas, but someone to help you sort through what’s already there and make it work in a way that feels right!
That’s exactly what I do inside my 1:1 coaching.
No pressure, no big pitch! Just a conversation!
At the end of the day…
This was never about creating a “smaller” session. It was about creating an easier way to begin!
Because when something feels simple and natural, people say yes.
And from there… everything else has room to grow!!
